CHECHNYA - A battle between guerrillas and government forces took place near the village of Goy-Chu (formerly Komsomolskoye) in Chechnya's Urus-Martanovsky district today.
Early one morning a unit of the Chechen “West” battalion, under the command of the Russian Defence Ministry, was on a reconnaissance mission in the forest on the outskirts of the village. The soldiers came upon a group of guerrillas coming out of the forest to replenish their food supplies. A fierce battle broke out that lasted about half an hour.

CHECHNYA - June 17 marked the first anniversary of the death of Abdul-Khalim Sadullayev, President of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria. He was killed in the so-called "Indian" neighbourhood on the outskirts of his native city of Argun.
Sadullayev spent the night there with several guerrillas and was killed as the result of a short gunfight after someone informed on him. Two law enforcement officers who took part in the operation - a policeman and an FSB official - also died in the clash. The other guerrillas managed to escape. Sadullayev’s body, like those of hundreds of other guerrillas, has not yet been returned to his relatives for burial.
Combat actions take place in southern Chechnya Publication time: 20 June 2007, 19:41 Kavkaz Center source reports with reference to the Chechen command about clashes in the southern regions of the country. The source reported that this is not a complete summary of the fighting and sabotage operations.
According to Chechen command on 17 June, a Mujahideen saboteur unit destroyed an APC and killed at least 3 kafirs (the invaders), who were carrying out reconnaissance on one of the mountain roads in the area of Yalhoi-Mohk village, Nozhai-Yurt district. The invaders were blown up by a remote-controlled landmine.
On the same day, a mobile Mujahideen unit fired on a force of the pro-Moscow bandit groups the munafiqs a few kilometers from Gordali village. Two puppets were killed and several were wounded during the 15-minute-long firefight.

Five die in shoot-out between soldiers and policemen in Grozny

GROZNY, Chechnya – An armed clash took place in the Staropromyslovsky district of the Chechen capital today between police and soldiers of the spetsnaz Zapad battalion. There were casualties on both sides.
Prague Watchdog’s correspondent learned this from a source in the republic’s law enforcement agencies. The exact circumstances of the incident are not yet known.
On the afternoon of June 20 there was an armed clash between members of the spetsnaz Zapad battalion and officers of the republic’s interior ministry. In the course of the shoot-out four Zapad soldiers and a Chechen OMON officer were killed. A road traffic police inspector was seriously wounded.

MOSCOW. June 21 (Interfax) - Four servicemen from the West battalion of the Russian Defense Ministry's 42nd motorized rifle division were killed in an armed clash in the Staropromyslovsky district of Grozny on Wednesday night, a local police source told Interfax on Thursday.
Traffic police stopped an UAZ jeep without license plates at a checkpoint on Staropromyslovskoye Highway on Wednesday evening, suspecting that the driver, who was a trainee from the West battalion, could have been drunk.
