The occupational sources have reported, that two mojaheds were killed during the clashing with a group of armed puppets in the Vedenskiy district of CRI. Besides this, it is stated that another two mojaheds are "persecuted". As usually, puppets report nothing on their own losses.

On the data of occupants, the fight took place near the village of Selmentauzen. There is not information from Chechen side.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian prosecutors investigating the murder of crusading reporter Anna Politkovskaya have opened a criminal inquiry into police officials in Chechnya, a journalists’ rights group said on Tuesday.

Politkovskaya, shot down outside her home last October, had been strongly critical of Kremlin policy in Chechnya, where she alleged officials used abduction and torture in their campaign against separatist insurgents.
Joel Simon, executive director of the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), said he was told of the Chechen aspect of the investigation at a meeting with the foreign ministry to discuss the murder of journalists in Russia.

The New York-based CPJ says 13 journalists have been killed in contract-style hits since President Vladimir Putin came to power in 2000. It describes Russia as the third most dangerous country for journalists behind Iraq and Algeria.

GROZNY, May 24 (Itar-Tass) -- A commando from the battalion “Vostok” (East) of the Defence Ministry was injured as a result of the shootout in the Gudermes region of Chechnya. Russian commandoes came under fire at about 02.10 Moscow time on Wednesday in the forest, 500 meters northeast of Koshkeldy in the Gudermes region, a source in the republican law enforcement agencies told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

Meanwhile, a cache, which contained four grenade launchers RPG-26, five artillery shells, projectiles for grenade launchers, cartridges and four illuminating flares, was found in the basement of the non-residential house in Tbilisskaya Street in the Leninsky district of Grozny on Wednesday, a source in the Chechen Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass.
