Two Chechen police officers were wounded in a special operation in Grozny on 27 April. A rebel who put up armed resistance was killed in the skirmish.
"An active member of the field commander Munayev's illegal armed formation was found yesterday in Grozny's Oktiabrskii district. The bandit put up armed resistance and was destroyed in the skirmish. Two of our officers were wounded. A search of the house where the destroyed rebel lived led to uncovering a cache with arms there," a police officer said. The interlocutor did not give the name of the killed rebel referring to the need to keep investigation details secret.

50 invaders killed, wounded in southern Chechnya
As spokesman of the Military Council (part of State Defense Council of Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, CRI) has informed, during the clashes in the past three days in Vedeno and Nojay-Yurt districts of the country 19 invaders were eliminated and more than 30 were wounded. According to the source, skirmishes and local fights have occurred in district of villiages Ersenoy, Eshelhatoy, Elistazhi, and in the outskirts of Vedeno and Shal-Hutor.
Chechen Command reported that mobile squads and sabotage squads of Chechen Mujahideen have carried out series of successful combat operations, having destroyed 5 units of enemy hardware. Thus, near village Ersenoy Mujahideen blew up BRDM (armored fighting vehicle) of enemy, on the road Eshelhatoy-Elistanzhi BTR (armored troop-carried) were undermined. 29/4/2005 Chechnya's deputy prime minister intends to kill Basayev before 9 May
Chechnya's First Deputy Prime Minister Ramzan Kadyrov says nearly all executors and organisers of the terrorist act in Grozny's Dynamo stadium on 9 May 2004 when seven, including President Akhmad Kadyrov of Chechnya, were killed have been destroyed.
The terrorists who killed Akhmad Kadyrov have been destroyed, Ramzan Kadyrov told Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper by phone. "There is one executor and one customer left. The other devils have been shot dead one by one," he said.
He did not give the name of the "live executor" of the assassination though. "We have killed those who laid the bomb in the stadium and who pressed the button. And this one was involved in building the stadium as a construction worker." At the same time he mentioned the rebel was in Chechnya.

The assault came in the afternoon in suburbs of Groznyy. The law enforcement officers were driving the police jeep when unidentified criminals opened assault rifles fire upon their car. Both policemen died on the spot.
According to the Interior Ministry, the area was sealed off right away, but the attackers gave the police the slip.
