According to  a report from the Chechen Military Command for the Kavkaz Center news agency, the Chechen Mujahideen exploded an landmine at a Russian armored pesonnel carrier on a road leading to the district center on the side of the village Dargo in the district of Vedeno on December 15, 2006. As the result of the operation, 2 Russian troops were killed and 5 others were wounded. No further details on the operation were reported.

Also on December 15, 2006, the Mujahideen exploded a landmine at a Russian reconnaissance unit, killing 1 and wounding 2 other Russian soldiers.
