Chechen separatist leader Doku Umarov may be dead - Kadyrov

GROZNY, Chechnya. Nov 13 (Interfax) - Militants killed in a current
security operation in Chechnya may include Doku Umarov, a senior Chechen
separatist leader, Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov said on Friday.
"According to reports that are coming in, up to 20 militants have
been killed. The bodies of three of them have been identified. They are
Islam Uspakhadzhiyev, Umarov's closest associate, Rustam Akuyev and
Alkhazur Bashayev. Uspakhadzhiyev was Umarov's closest associate - they
were moving around together and were holding negotiations by radio. For
this reason we can't rule out that Doku Umarov may be among those
 killed," Kadyrov said.
"Many of the bodies are fragmented as a result of the rocket strike
from helicopters," he said. "For this reason, before a medical test is
made, we can't assert firmly that it's true that Umarov has been killed.

CK: Militant killed in Chechnya Was Earlier Given Out By His Relatives

Militant killed in Chechnya was earlier given out by his relatives

nov 12 2009, 21:00

Hasan Ozdamirov, who was announced as liquidated in the course of the special operation conducted by power agents on November 7 in the vicinity of the city of Argun, had been earlier given out to law enforcers by his relatives. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent learnt about it from an Argun resident, who closely knew the casualty.

According to the source, Ozdamirov's close relatives were exposed to constant persecutions by power agents, who demanded either to kill Hasan or to give him out to them under threat of executing other family members.

"Hasan Ozdamirov's liquidation in a special operation is a lie," said the source. "He was heavily wounded in his legs, and his friends-rebels transported him home to Argun. His relatives, so much terrorized by power agents, being afraid that he could be found during another search, gave him ...

Yamadaevs' relatives believe that the search of Ruslan's summer cottage was aimed at murdering Isa

nov 12 2009, 23:00

The search conducted on November 5 by Chechen militiamen of the cottage located near Moscow and belonging to former deputy of the State Duma Ruslan Yamadaev, who was killed last year in Moscow, most likely, pursued the aim to kill his younger brother Isa, who is now the leader of this family clan, which is opposing the incumbent Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov. This is the conviction of Yamadaevs' relatives and friends.

They also believe that two other Yamadaev brothers - Musa and Badruddi are also in serious danger.

"The version that in the Odintsovo District near Moscow, in the house of Khalid (Ruslan Yamadaev) MIA agents had allegedly looked for Musa with the aim to bring him to Chechnya for interrogation, is a fantasy," said a source close to the Yamadaev family.

"I can't understand how ...
