Last night Former Russian FSB officer Alexander Litvinenko died in London University College Hospital. Apparently, he was poisoned on November 1, after that doctors were trying to save his life but with no success. AT first there was a theory that Litvinenko was poisoned by thallium or its radioactive type. Later his doctors rejected the assumptions.
Litvinenko had been UK citizen since October 2006, however, reports on officer’s death were published on all front pages of leading world newspapers. Major international broadcasters, CNN and BBC TV-channels post their features as first ones reporting Litvinenko’s death. Possibility of the Russian Intelligence Service being involved in the poisoning is being discussed.

12 Russians, Puppets Killed, Over 26 Wounded in 4 Days in Chechnya Publication time: Today at 15:32 Djokhar time 12 Russian soldiers and their puppets were killed in the Chechen capital of Jokhar and in southern Chechnya on November 20-24, 2006, according to a report for the Kavkaz Center news agency from the Chechen Military Command. According to tallies of some mobile and sabotage groups operating in Jokhar and in the districts of Vedeno, Shatoi and Nozhai Yurt, 8 Russian invaders and 4 proxies were killed and at least 26 others were wounded in ambushes, small arms attacks, landmine explosions and pinpoint strikes.
2 Russian soldiers from a unit of Russian paramilitary police forced were killed in the Maskhadov (former Staropromyslovsky) district of Jokhar during the implementation of a combat task on the night of November 20-21, 2006, Their arms and ammunition were confiscated.

According to Russian news reports on Tuesday, Chechen Mujahideen opened fire from their car on a truck carrying Russian interior ministry paramilitary troops in Gudermes district late Monday, November 27, 2006. A Russian mercenary was killed and two others wounded in the action. The Mujahideen suffered no losses.
As of press time, no information about the real nature and extent of Russian casualties was available from the Chechen Military Command.
