14 Collaborators Slain in Chechnya
Publication time: 4 November 2006, 14:53
6 Chechen collaborators from the native detachment "East" were killed and at least 8 others were killed in a firefight in the area of the village Dargo in the Vedeno district Wednesday morning (Nov. 1), according to a report from the Chechen Military Command.

The fierce battle lasted for more than 2 hours. The casualties among the collaborators seem to be even higher. Eyewitnesses among the residents of the Dargo village reported that the Russians removed many wounded collaborators including those whose severe injuries gave them no chance to survive.

One Mujahid martyred (Shaheed, insha Allah).

The collaborators were supported by Russian combat helicopters. Russian artillery pounded the whole day the supposed withdrawal route of the Chechen Mujahideen in the depth of the forest-covered area.

The battle started after a reconnaissance group of Chechen Mujahideen discovered the collaborators. The small group held the enemy troops in check for more than half an hour before Mujahideen reinforcements arrived at the scene. The Mujahid martyred exactly during this first half an hour of the inequal battle.

After the Mujahideen reinforcements arrived, the fighter delivered a massive blow to the collaborators that left many of them dead and wounded.

Russian war planes pounded the environs of the Dargo village with bombs and rockets during the whole daytime and then at night. No information about casualties among civilians was available, the report concludes.

Meanwhile, the AP dispatched only the Russian version of the battle:

"ROSTOV-ON-DON, Russia: Two militants were killed and two servicemen were wounded when security forces raided a rebel camp in Chechnya's forest-covered mountains, officials said Thursday.

The fighting erupted Wednesday near the village of Dargo in the southern Vedeno region when servicemen from a Russian Defense Ministry Vostok battalion made up of Chechen residents spotted a rebel camp, the regional branch of Russia's Interior Ministry said in a statement". End of quotation.

The AP and other Western media never give their readers a full, two-sided, unbiased, reliable and trustworthy picture of the Russian-Chechen War.
