Kavkaz Center received additional information about sabotage operations of Chechen Mujahideen in the Shelkovskaya district in northern Chechnya and near the village Aghisty in the Shali district.
A sabotage group of Chechen Mujahideen belonging to a special detachment of the North-Eastern Front of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria's Armed Forces (Commander Amir Taghir) carried out a military operation in the village Kagarlinoskaya on Thursday, October 5, 2006. The Russians were struck with rockets, grenades and heavy-machinegun fire. The attack lasted for 15 minutes. Exact Russian casualties are unknown but, according to radio intercept, the action left several Russians dead and wounded.
Another group of Mujahideen, belonging to the Islamic Brigade Jundullah of the South Eastern Front of the CRI Armed Forces, attacked Russian terrorists near the village of Aghishty, also on Thursday, October 5, 2006. The Russians were struck with grenade launchers fire, destroying an armored humvee and killing 3 and wounding 2 invaders according to a report from the Chechen Military Command.
According to earlier Russian news reports, the invaders claimed that they had suffered no losses in the Kagarlinovskaya village and only 3 their soldiers had been wounded near Aghyshty.
