Ministry of Information and Press of ChRI: Press-Release No 38

18 September 2006

Military activity

Fighting goes on at the fronts of Russo-Caucasus war. Over the past week, the combatants of the ChRI Armed Forces and of the Caucasus Front conducted a number of successful operations against Russian invaders and terrorists and local gangs of national traitors.

Between 10 and 16 September, the enemy has lost at least 62 men killed (at least 56 of them Russian troops, some of the others were local collaborators). At least 26 invaders and collaborators were wounded. At least 4 military vehicles, two of them armoured (BRMD and BTR), were destroyed by Chechen operations.

On the Chechen side, at least one combatant was killed and other four wounded.

Our source in Osetian jamaat of Kataib al Khoul informs that the Osetian rebels attacked a military transport helicopter of Russian invaders. The special operation was conducted on Monday 11 September in Yuzhny Area in the suburbs of North Osetia capital city. 12 top officers from the leadership of Kremlin terrorists, including 3 generals, were killed. Only 4 officers survived, heavily wounded. The helicopter was shot by a PZRK missile, launched personally by Kataib al Khoul jamaat's leader Amir Saad. Several days before, the representatives of Osetian rebels had warned that they were going to attack Russian aircraft, and that they knew all the locations and flight routes of Russian terrorists' planes and helicopters.

According to our sources in the ChRI Armed Forces Eastern Front Staff, there was a fierce combat on 14 September in the forest several kilometers away from Elistanzhi village, Vedeno district. 7 Russian invaders were killed, and many more wounded. At least one Chechen combatant was killed and other four wounded. The further details of the combat are being clarified.

Numerous smaller-scale military encounters took place in Djokhar (Grozny), in Shali and Shali District, in Vedeno District, in Itum-Kalinsky District, and in Akhkinchu-Borze.

On 14 September Colonel Mustafa Konakov, the leader of "Chereksky ROVD" gang, was killed in Kabardino-Balkaria. He was travelling at his "Niva" car to Kashkhatau, the central settlement of Chereksky District. As his car was heading towards Gerpegezh settlement and passing a forest, it was shot with machine-guns from the both sides of the road. The collaborator was wounded, and later died in hospital.

On 15 September Colonel Nikolai Krivtsov, former associate of the leader of "GUVD" of Stavropol Region, Russia, was killed in unclear circumstances. We still have no reports about the details and causes of Krivtsov's death. Krivtsov was known as an active participant of punitive and terrorist attacks against civilian population of ChRI, Ingushetia, and Dagestan.

Genocide

On 6 September 2006, in Tashkala village, Maskhadov District (former Staropromyslovsky District), Djokhar (Grozny), a dead body was discovered. The man was identified as Mayerbek Emingeriyev, aged 40, resident of Voikova settlement, Djokhar. There was a wound on Emingiriyev's body, which confirms the suggestion that the man was killed.

On 7 September 2006 in the town of Achkhoi-Martan, two local residents, Khavazh Daudov, aged 26, and Salam Mairbiev, aged 38, were kidnapped by the employees of unidentified occupational organisations. Supposedly, Khavazh Daudov was moved to Urus-Martan, to the base of RUBOP gang of collaborators. There is no information about the fate of the other captive.

On 12 September in the city of Gudermes, national traitors kidnapped a 22-year-old local resident. He was "charged" with participation in a 2004 Chechen operation in Avtury village, Shali District, where several national traitors were killed. According to our source, tortures are used against the man. His name is being clarified.

The same day, a 53-year-old resident of Kurchaloi town was kidnapped. The aged Chechen is "charged" with fighting against the Russians under the command of Ramzan Akhadov. The curcumstances of the kidnapping and the name of the captive are being clarified.

The same day in Achkhoi-Martan town, a 38-year-old man, born in Achkhoi-Martan District, was kidnapped. The motives of the kidnapping, and the circumstances of the event are being clarified.

In Assinovskaya, Sunzhensky District, a local resident was kidnapped and "charged" with participation in military actions against Russian invaders. There is no information about the further fate of the captive.

On 15 September, in Prigorodny District of North Osetia, 3 local residents were kidnapped during the so-called "special measures". They are "suspected of being implicated in the case of BTR" armoured vehicle, blown up in early September in Maiskoye village, Prigorodny District, North Osetia. Weapons were planted on the men during a "search", and became the key "evidence" of their guilt.

On 15 September, a 43-year-old resident of Galaity, Nozhai-Yurt District, was kidnapped during a so-called "address check". After capturing the Chechen civilian, the national traitors demonstratively brought out of his house the weapons they themselves had brought in there. They announced the weapons had been found in the house. The further fate and whereabouts of the Chechen are unknown.

On 16 September in Chechen-Aul, a local resident was kidnapped by pro-Kremlin chastisers during a round-up operation. The Chechen was "charged" with association to the ChRI Armed Forces. According to your sources, the captive is being tortured. The name and further whereabouts of the Chechen are unknown.

According to our source in ChRI, wide-scale round-up operations against the locals are underway in Shali District. In particular, mass zachistkas (cleansing operations) are underway in Avtury village. All the exits from the surrounding settlements are blocked. There is still no information about the number of victims of these activities.

According to our sources in Ingushetia, three Ingush residents who had been kidnapped by the terrorists from "FSB Directorate for Ingushetia" are passed to the puppet authorities of North Osetia and are now kept in the SIZO prison of Vladikavkaz. The people of Ingushetia are appalled by this fact. It is well-known that tortures are used in North Osetia against Ingushs, who are thus forced to give false testimonies against themselves and others. Over the recent years, more that 300 of Ingushetia's residents were killed, subjected to cruel treatment, or sentenced by the "courts" of North Osetia on the basis of such "confessions".

Russian fire

Starting from 19:00 on 11 September, and till 6 am on the next day, Russian invaders subjected forests of Vedeno District near Elistanzhi, Beni-Yurt, Vedeno and Makhety, to heavy artillery fire. There is so far no information about civilian casualties.

On 11 September, about 20:00, "Grad" multiple-launch missile systems located at the terrorists' military base at the suburbs of Shali town fired at Argun Canyon. There is so far no information either about the Chechen military losses or about civilian casualties from this fire.

On 13 September, at 5:20 am an artillery shell exploded near a private house at the suburb of Serzhen-Yurt, Shali District. Three private houses were severely damaged. There is so far no information about the civilian casualties resulting from this fire.

Some Chechen forces also report night aviation attacks on Vedeno and Nozhai-Yurt Districts. No other details were reported.
