From: MSN NicknameEagle_wng (Original Message) Sent: 7/19/2006 2:56 AM Chechen Mujahideen Seek No Negotiations with Russians Publication time: Today at 12:07 Djokhar time The Arabic website of the Chechen Mujahideen, alqoqaz.com, published a message on July 17, 2006, from the military deputy official of the Mujahideen Shura Council in Chechnya, Abu Hafs, in which he condoles the Islamic Nation for the martyrdom of Shamil Basayev, and denies that in the wake of his death that the Mujahideen in Chechnya wish to have negotiations with Russian officials.
On the contrary, he states that Jihad was not affected by the loss of Basayev, and the Mujahideen will continue to strive for the withdrawal of Russia from Chechnya and to be self-governing. Abu Hafs then cites the world support lent to East Timor for its independence from Indonesia, juxtaposed to the denial of such support to Chechnya, arguing that this is so because the Timorese are Christian and the Chechens Muslim.
In addition, the site carries the message that the Mujahideen in the village of Atqi burned a Russian troop transportation vehicle, killing no less than eight soldiers, and destroyed a military truck in Shali, killing two Russian soldiers.
