Journalists do not display interest to war in Chechnya for a long time. Printed materials on military subject appeared rarely – only when for example Bush wants to make Putin ashamed or when the Islamic fighters undertake attacks on towns as it took place in Nazran, Johar or Nalchik.
In the large majority of cases the western mass media transfer only somnolent information of the Kremlin propagandist liars and try to evade in every way reminding daily clashes and losses of the Russian occupants and their puppets in places, on which the Chechen mass media inform regularly.
So singular western journalists who find themselves in Chechnya is surprised extremely at observed reality.
The journalist of the American newspaper "Newsday" Sebastian Smyth was one those who are surprised at that "there is a war in Chechnya up to date". After his trip to Caucasus he wrote the article "Victims of the Dirty War in Chechnya". The author told about tragic destiny of Ibragim Sangariev, the Chechen young man at age of 25 years old. Unknown armed men worn in camouflage kidnapped him this January. A month later shepherd children found his bullet-riddled body in outskirts of the Chechen capital.
"According to the Chechen traditions the family of Sangariev was fortunate to bury Ibragim", - the author reports.
The surprised journalist writes: "Having come to Starie Atagi I’ve heard with my own ears how the forest was bombarded with shells and missiles from the neighbouring military base. Walls were shaking from these explosions…. An access to military sources is factually excluded in Chechnya. Russian mass media operate there in conditions of strict censorship. However one local figure holding office of high-ranked security officer recognized that "anti-terrorist operation is far from completion at present".
The American journalist has been also surprised at that over 7 thou citizens of the country were kidnapped or disappeared for recent years. Only according to recognition of local collaborationists 316 men were kidnapped since the beginning of the year, and less than a half of them survived after tortures
Having heard cannonade and communicated with local puppets the American journalist understood that the war not only did not come to the end but also is being spread.
"Fierce battles during which the Russian artillery and aviation razed to the ground entirely the Chechen capital and factually infrastructure of the whole of Checnya quieted down. However hard and more radicalized Islamic rebellion continues".
The American journalist compared situation in Chechnya with Iraq and notified analogy of resistance rendered to the Russian invaders in Chechnya and to the American troops in Iraq – hostilities in response to invasion.
Meanwhile activity of military operations conducted by the Chechen Mujahiddeens does not go down. After spring has come Mujahiddeens show especial activity during night operations.
Only at night of 20-21 May the Islamic fighters shot 2 mercenaries in the Zavodskoy district of the capital of Chechnya and 4 occupants more were injured during attacks on block posts. Furthermore at night of 21-22 May the heroic Islamic fighters killed 4 and injured 5 aggressors and collaborationists during night raids in Johar (formerly Grozny). Right this time the Mujahiddeens shot enemy troops deployment sites in the Vedeno region. Night attacks on emplacements of kafirs are usual here. Another night attack was launched in the Itum-Kali region. Mujhaddeens shot with grenade dispensers and machine-guns the military base of the Russian occupants deployed in the Itum-Kali region.
