Unidentified persons fired automatic weapons at a VAZ-21099 "Zhiguli" car with officers of law enforcement agencies on a road not far from Mayakovskogo in Grozny's Staropromyslovskii district at about 8.00 pm on 9 August. As a result, two police officers in the car sustained serious wounds. A passer-by who happened to be in the shooting area also received several gunshot wounds.
