Unidentified persons set fire to the houses of some law enforcement agents in Dyshne-Vedeno, Vedeno district, on the night of 10 August, a district resident told Caucasian Knot.
All the three houses practically burnt down completely, he said. When the fire was extinguished, the body of a local resident, Ms Abdulkerimov, was found in one of them.
The houses may have been set on fire by a gang that law enforcement agents had encountered in Dyshne-Vedeno last night, an officer of Chechnya's Internal Affairs Ministry thinks.
A combat between members of illegal armed formations and officers of the counter-terrorist centre occurred in this village last night, Caucasian Knot's correspondent reports.
Late at night, a group of rebels of about five penetrated Dyshne-Vedeno, a source with Chechnya's law enforcement agencies says, quoted by RIA Novosti.
Officers of the counter-terrorist centre engaged them. The rebels made a retreat once mortars were fired at them. None of the law enforcers suffered, according to the source.
