Feb 02 2011, 21:00

The criminals who attacked militiamen today in the city of Chegem (the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR)) took away the casualties' firearms.

"The culprits took away 4 submachine guns with ammunition," said the spokeswoman of the Investigatory Department for the KBR of the Russian ICPO.

The attack resulted in deaths in place of the following GIBDD (Russian State Traffic Safety Inspectorate - STSI) inspectors for the Chegem District: Alim Nazranov, Zaur Tambiev, Arthur Batov and Azret Unezhev. Another militiaman was seriously wounded and is now in hospital.

According to investigators, on February 2, at about 12:30 a.m., four unidentified persons, while in a café, opened fire from their unidentified firearms on the militiamen.

It was also established that today, at about 11 a.m., near the House of Culture in Chegem, the criminals hijacked, at gunpoint, a VAZ-2110 car belonging to a local resident.
