Adygeyan public of KBR organize meeting in Nalchik on November, 17th

In connection with that all the actions of the Adygeyan organizations searching for reasonable compromise and a way-out from the situation developed in KBR in relation to the Federal law # 131, did not resulted with fair result, the Adygeyan public of KBR organize a meeting on November, 17th at 12 o'clock in the afternoon on the square of Abkhazia in Nalchik.
On November, 5th, 2009 a session of representatives of KBR authorities, the Balkarian public and coordination council of Adygeyan public organizations took place. KBR Parliament on October, 31st had approved in the second reading the bills, giving five Balkarian settlements more than 100 thousand hectares of land. Earlier Balkarian settlements of Chereksky, Cheghemsky and Elbrussky areas were allocated with more than 340 thousand hectares of the land, including the territories of the nomadic animal industry, historically belonged to all the settlements of the republic.
Adygeyan party always insisted on necessity of preliminary transformation of the lands of nomadic animal industry into the lands with the special status as it is demanded by the Federal law # 131. Without transformation of those lands into a separate category, allocation of territories to Balkarian settlements breaks the rights and the legitimate interests of all the other peoples of KBR.
However, representatives of Balkarian public present at the session on November, 5th, declared that they insist on full allocation of all the inter-settlement territories to Balkarian settlements. Besides that they insisted on that the law about nomadic animal industry neither before, nor after allocation of the lands, is absolutely not necessary to the republic. “Kabardians and the other peopled will rent mountain pastures from us and then we shall live in peace”, - "Alan" representative Magomed Abshaev declared. We shall note that the mountain pastures had never belonged to Balkarian municipal formations.
The developed position evidently shows that arrangement of KBR authorities with Balkarian organizations, in infringement of the legitimate interests of Adygeyan people, has only aggravated the situation.
In connection with the last events, Adygeyan organizations declare carrying out of a meeting on November, 17th at 12 o'clock in the afternoon on the square of Abkhazia in Nalchik. They ask everybody to take part in the meeting and to notify others on its carrying out.
