Kabardino-Balkaria: four militiamen sacked after going to court for their unpaid overtime bonuses

oct 28 2009, 18:00

After reports appeared in media that servicemen of the regiment of patrol-sentry service of the militia (RPSSM) were refused their bonuses for overtime work, repressions against the militiamen who had been bold as to complain became stronger.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by the servicemen of the regiment that after appeared publications Nazir Dyshekov, commander of the regiment, said to the formation that while he was the commander, "non of the claimants would win the case and get at least a kopeck."

Militiamen said that out of those who had gone to the law four were dismissed - their contracts were not prolonged; and one was told that he was incapable with his work.

Thus, Marks Bekov said that he was forced to retire. "The medical commission found me healthy and fit for service; I could work still more, but they told me to leave," he said. "They didn't even allow me to work till the end of the contract."

Kanshoubi Geduev was sent to pension in the same manner.

"If we hadn't addressed the court by our whole battalion, the number of those dismissed would have been much more," the servicemen said.

Those who are too young to be forced to retire are subjected to material sanctions.

"They dropped my salary by 2500 roubles. None of the claimants gets due bonuses. The list of those who had addressed the court is before the commander; and he decides who will get bonuses and who won't. He calls us 'oligarchs' ironically," said on of the servicemen.
