The Government of Kabardino-Balkaria approved a republican target program of over 19.2 billion rubles on implementation of the federal target program «South of Russia» till 2012. This was reported in the press service of the head of the republic on the results of the meeting of the Government of KBR. 
«The main purpose of the program is to improve the quality of life of the population of the republic, as well as to reduce the backlog of the standard of well-being from the average one throughout Russia», - told the press service. Among priorities one called the development of tourism and recreation complex, agricultural complex, hydropower engineering, higher availability of social infrastructure and growth of employment. More than 19.2 billion rubles will be allocated for the program, including 8.7 billion from the federal budget, 1.7 - from the state and 8.8 billion rubles from extra budgetary resources. 
«For the development of mining and recreational complex till 2012 will be allocated more than 13.8 billion rubles», - told the press service. «Overall, up to 2020 it is planned to attract into the resort the investment of about 100 million rubbles, including 33 billion rubles from the budget for engineering and municipal infrastructure», - said the agency interlocutor. The 5-year program provides for the construction of a highway Kislovodsk - The Valley of Narzan - Dzhily-Su - Elbrus, connecting the Caucasian Mineralnye Vody with the new tourist-recreation complex «Dzhily-Su» on the north-eastern slope of Elbrus. In addition, will be built several small hydropower stations, supplying at 60% the republic with energy deficit. It is also planned to construct and reconstruct the water supply systems in Nalchik, the Baksansky, Zolsky and Tersky districts of KBR. «Provision with drinking water of high quality is one of the priorities of the program», - emphasized in the press-service.
