ذكر مصدر داخل قيادة قاطع خاسافيورت من القوات المسلحة لإمارة القوقاز بأن الأمير أومالات (أومالات ماغومادوف) أمير جماعة البراء, الذي يقع ضمن مسؤوليته قاطع خاسافيورت من داغستان قد إستشهد.

حيث إندلع إشتباك بين مجاهد و مجموعة من المرتدين و الغزاة إستمرت لساعتين في مدينة أرفيلد في 23 محرم 1429 هـ (20/01/2009م). و قد علم فيما بعد بأن العملية قادها الأمير أومالات.
