No one could have predicted a scandal would erupt when, on April 3, the Russian National Anti-Terrorist Committee (NAK) reported that security forces had killed five rebels in Ingushetia’s main city, Nazran. The authorities acknowledged there was a woman among the slain rebels. According to government sources, security forces tried to stop the rebels’ car, but the militants opened fire on them and were killed by return fire. One of the men and the woman in the car were wearing "suicide belts” that together contained the equivalent of five kilograms of TNT in explosive force, which could not be safely discharged, the NAK asserted. It claimed that the security services actions had prevented a double suicide attack (http://ria.ru/defense_safety/20120403/617131007.html, April 3).

On March 26, the head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, unexpectedly lashed out at the republic’s law enforcement agencies, demanding that they be fully in control of the situation in the republic. He called an extraordinary meeting of law enforcement officials and the relatives of Abubakar Tsechoev, who was kidnapped on March 22 (http://ingushetia.kavkaz-uzel.ru/articles/203724/, March 26).

On March 22, an armed group of ten people wearing uniforms and masks sneaked into a water pump facility in the Ingush town of Ordzhnokidzevskaya, where Tsechoev and three coworkers were on duty. According to Tsechoev’s colleagues, the assailants tied them up and threatened to shoot them if they tried to move. Tsechoev himself was beaten up, handcuffed and taken away by the masked men, who reportedly spoke Russian. The assailants disabled ...

On June 11, the head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, met with parents of suspected rebels, along with the heads of municipal entities and law enforcement agencies, in Magas, the republic’s capital. Yevkurov called on the parents of the suspected rebels to convince their children to reject armed insurgent activities or, if they are unable to do so, inform authoritative elders, the authorities and the public. "Find enough courage in yourself to admit that your son poses a danger to the public,” he said, adding "Let people know about him so that they guard their children from your son’s subversive influence.” At the same time, Yevkurov acknowledged that "part of [Ingush] youth does not trust anyone: neither the authorities, nor the [officially approved Islamic] clergy, nor the parents, ...

In Ingushetia, head of "Maximum" Agency fears that his organization may be closed by the court

Apr 08 2011, 23:00

On April 6, Vakha Chapanov, head of the information-analytical Agency named "Maximum", was repeatedly summoned to the Prosecutor's Office of Ingushetia, where he was warned about the inadmissibility of publishing material critical of power agents. The journalist believes that this is the first step of law enforcers towards closing his agency.

"Today I was served a warning entitled 'On inadmissibility of violating the law on counteracting extremism' and saying that Article 17.7 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation envisions administrative responsibility for a failure to fulfil lawful demands of the prosecutor; the warning was signed by Zhulyabin, Acting Deputy Public Prosecutor of the republic," said Chapanov.

"They believe that in the article 'Situation remains tense', I accuse without due grounds power agents of the Republic of Ingushetia of gross violations of the legislation ...

Always lying Russians increased 2.5 times the number of martyred Mujahideen in Ingushetia

Publication time: 5 April 2011, 12:27

On the photo: bodies of the martyrs (Insha'Allah)

Sources of the Kavkaz Center reported updated information on the number of martyred Mujahideen as a result of air attacks by the Russians on a Mujahideen base near the village of Upper Alkun in Ingushetia.

According to specified data, only 7 Mujahideen (6 men and one woman) martyred (Insha'Allah). The Russian claims of the death of 17 Mujahideen are absolutely false.

It is to be recalled that on early March 28, 2011, 2 Mujahideen martyred during a storming of a private house by Russian terrorist troops in the village of Upper Alkun. Two other Mujahideen martyred near the village. It is assumed that the two Mujahideen were going to the base in a reconnaissance mission.

We would like to point out in this connection that indirect evidence of the reliability of the KC information sources was confirmed by ...
