2 police troopers killed in ambush in Russia's restive Ingushetia

ROSTOV-ON-DON, Russia - Russian officials say two police troopers have been killed in an ambush in the restive Caucasus republic of Ingushetia.
A spokesman for the republic's Interior Ministry says a convoy of two ministry trucks came under automatic weapons and grenade fire on Sunday night. Two police troopres died and another five were seriously wounded.
Ingushetia, along with neighbouring Chechnya and nearby Dagestan, suffers frequent attacks on police and soldiers. The violence is attributed to separatist insurgents and to criminal groups.
