There
Is No Permanent Friendship, But Permanent Interests
Life
is not only a school that teaches lessons, instructions, and text books, but an
enormous practical experience space that materializes facts of life and the
eternal antagonism between truth, justice, and honesty versus lying,
unfairness, and deceit.
Experience
is defined by some analysts as a number of failures are made during the past,
while the "Free Dictionary" defines it as: "Active participation in events or activities, leading to the
accumulation of knowledge or skill”, which gives more optimistic room for those
who are more hopeful; but actualities reveal the truth that cannot be condoned,
which is there
are no lasting
allies, and no permanent
friends, but only permanent interests, that is a formula that illustrates which
quite often describes the nations’ conduct in certain situations. Events and
history have offered
lessons that can be utilized.

Window on Eurasia: Russian Map Makers Struggle to Overcome Longstanding Tradition of Geographic Secrecy Paul Goble
Staunton, June 24 – The Russian government has ended its cartographic monopoly, thus opening the way for dozens of private firms to enter the three billion US dollar annual market in Russian maps, but the longstanding Soviet tradition of secrecy about geography continues to cast a shadow over even these private enterprises. In an article in "Kommersant-Dengi” this week, Dmitry Chizov describes what he says is the ongoing "geographic discovery of Russia,” one in which for the first time both Russians and foreigners can finally obtain accurate information about specific locations in the Russian Federation (www.kommersant.ru/doc.aspx?DocsID=1383780&NodesID=4). On April 1, Chizov reports, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said that "maps must be free and generally accessible lest the modernization of the economy become simply impossible.” And that directive was institutionalized in May when the Federal Cartographic Service, ... >> full

Window on Eurasia: Svetlana Medvedeva Visits ‘Little Outpost’ of Russian Empire in San Francisco Paul Goble
Staunton, June 24 – Even as Russian President Dmitry Medvedev toured Silicon Valley and talked about modernization, his wife, First Lady Svetlana Medvedeva, visited two "little outposts” of Russia’s imperial past, San Francisco’s Russian Cultural Center and the editorial offices of that city’s Russian-language émigré paper. In doing so, Medvedeva was not only behaving as the spouses of leaders typically do, following a cultural program during a political visit, but also promoting her own interests in and support for Russian history, the Russian Orthodox Church, and Patriarch Kirill’s notion of an international "Russian world” (www.vesti.ru/doc.html?id=371210&cid=9). At the Cultural Center, which last year marked its 70th anniversary, Medvedeva watched a program put on by the institution’s kindergarten and then visited the center’s displays on the history of the Russian emigration in San Francisco, something that makes ... >> full

In response to
"Cossacks and Security in the Caucasus"
From
time to time, it comes to us the imperial Russian propagandists and through the
ways and means available in various languages to broadcast their toxins and to
contaminate the information that people obtain from various sources in order to
procrastinate and spreading lies, which is the official policy that is selected
for inflaming nationalist sentiments among the colonized peoples and the turn
over and the falsification of facts and misinformation and presenting
information in accordance with glamorous
models that would only contribute to more hatred and disgust created by the
founders of the Russian Tsarist Empire and authorities inherited by successive
governments.
One
such example is the news published in writing, audio, and video on
"Russia Today" Arabic Language Site, which is sponsored by the
