The Olympic Games in Olympia had started as an ancient Greek festival with athletic, mythical, and musical competitions, held at Olympia in Greece periodically, traditionally from 776 B.C. until abolished by the Roman emperor Theodosius I in 393 A.D.

The ancient Olympics were based on a philosophy of balance between physical/athletic and spiritual/moral development that was a cornerstone of Greek democracy

Originally there was only one race, a sprint, and the prize for the winner was an olive wreath. As time went on, other races were added, as were other sports, including boxing and wrestling. Among the more unusual events were the race in armor and the apene race, in which a chariot was pulled not by horses, but by mules. ...

The following was posted on Face Book:

The Circassian Genocide Site contains now the links of files in English, Arabic and Turkish languages in addition to the Russian origins, for more than 480 documents, which were translated by a group of Circassians to the mentioned languages, knowing that the translation to the Turkish language is not completed for all documents yet.

The documents were extracted from the Russian archives and were sent in the year 2006 to the European Parliament, attached with a Circassian letter requesting from the European community to recognize the Circassian Genocide.

Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics: The Circassians Cry Genocide

Sochi, the site for the 2014 winter Olympics, just happens to be where the russians dispossessed an entire nation exactly 150 years earlier. the survivors’ descendants say it was genocide—and now they’re demanding justice.

Vladimir Putin may think he has trouble enough on Moscow’s streets without worrying about demonstrators outside the country. If so, perhaps he should think again. This week in Istanbul, New York, Brussels, and other world cities, protesters are taking aim at his most cherished project: the 2014 Winter Olympics. Although the facilities at the Caucasus Mountains resort of Sochi are already winning enthusiastic praise from visiting skiers, thousands of angry activists are determined to spoil Putin’s party.

The marchers are Circassians, the descendants of a people who once had their own country on the shores of the Black Sea, between Crimea and the modern-day Republic ...

Amaf Jarkasi I did not see in the article information about May 21st. Article was talking about a conference that was held recently, which talked about Caucasus as a whole and islamic radicals activity.
Ideology of islamists and circassian nationalists are different and dont have many things in common.
