MOSCOW, November 30 (Itar-Tass) -- A fire in the Tsibari highland village in Dagestan has been put out, no one is hurt, southern regional emergency situations department spokesman Oleg Grekov told Itar-Tass.

He said that 17 buildings, including the village school, the first-aid station and the kindergarten, were saved from blaze.

The village situated at the altitude of 2,400 meters above the sea level has 95 buildings, including 88 homes. Almost 400 people populate Tsibari, Grekov said.

The majority of villagers were evacuated to Mokok and Shauri and provided with hot food, he said.

"Emergency Situations Ministry departments in North Ossetia, Karachayevo-Cherkessia, the Stavropol territory and Chechnya are preparing to send tents, blankets and field kitchens to the village. The cargo will first go to Makhachkala, and a convoy will bring to the fire victims later on,” he said.

"The firewood and hay stocked for winter made it difficult to combat the blaze,” Grekov said.

A strong wind was blowing and the fire was spreading from one roof to another, he said.

A possible cause of the fire is negligence, Grekov added.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Dagestani head Magomedsalam Magomedov to ask him for rendering maximal assistance to residents of the Tsibari village, Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"Putin asked Magomedov to give maximum support to villagers and to accommodate them appropriately,” Peskov said.
