Militant killed, two injured in Russia's North Caucasus
16/02/2009 09:07 MAKHACHKALA, February 16 (RIA Novosti) - One militant has been killed and two others injured after police in Russia's North Caucasus Republic of Daghestan opened fire on their car, a local police spokesman said on Monday.
The militants were killed by police in Daghestan's Khasavyurtovsky district late on Sunday. Officers received a tipoff that the suspected gunmen were in the car and tried to stop it, but the driver did not follow police instructions.
"Police opened fire. As a result one person was killed and two injured," the spokesman said.
