Yamadayev’s assassins released from prison in UAE

The Tajik and Iranian nationals who were sentenced to prison terms in the United Arab Emirates for murdering Hero of Russia Sulim Yamadayev, a native of Chechnya, have been released from prison and deported home. This comes in a statement for the RIA Novosti news agency by the Tajik Vice-Consul in Dubai, Saidmuhammed Salihov.
The crime, perpetrated in the UAE in late March 2009, sent ripples due to the Yamadayev family differences with the Chechen President.
A Dubai court sentenced the Tajik national Maksudzhon Ismatov and Iranian national Mahdi Lornia to life in prison for murdering Yamadayev.

Staunton, April 17 – Given the role of the Internet and social media in the spread of popular revolts in many countries, there has been a great deal of speculation about how these new media are developing in places like Chechnya, but most of the commentary on such issues has come from outsiders rather than direct participants.
The current issue of the Daghestani online newspaper, "Nastoyashcheye vremya,” provides a welcome exception with its publication of information supplied anonymously by a Chechen blogger about how the Internet with its blogs and social media is developing in his republic (gazeta-nv.ru/content/view/5875/109/).
