Publication time: 14 September 2010, 22:05

On the photo: An attempt of provocation in front of the office of M.Storsjo in Helsinki, organized by pastor Molari and a "Muslim" Tammi

Odd things are happening in Finland. The notorious priest Juha Molari has arranged a series of events, earlier not seen in Finland.

On September 3rd, the priest accompanied by the so-called Finnish Moslem Risto Tammi, arranged a public act of exorcism against Kavkaz Center and Mikael Storsjo on the stairs of the Central Cathedral in Helsinki.

The happening has awoken rage within the Protestant Church, as exorcism is a non-existent procedure among the Protestants. In addition, the act was illegal because no allowance had been granted by the authorities in charge of the church area.

On September 8th, the so-called (but non-existing) Finnish Caucasian Friendship Association announced arranging an excursion to Mikael Storsjo's ...

On August 29, Chechen President, Ramzan Kadyrov’s, home village Tsentoroi (aka Khosi-Yurt) was attacked by a group of militants. Initial reports said there were ten casualties among the attackers and two among Kadyrov’s forces (RIA Novosti, August 29). Russian official sources stated that five civilians were killed during the fighting, but Kadyrov claimed there were no casualties among the civilians in the village (www.kavkaz-uzel.ru, August 29). Later, the official number of casualties climbed to 12 among the militants and six among the government forces, along with 18 injured servicemen and seven injured civilians (www.kavkaz-uzel.ru, August 30).

The attack shattered the image of Kadyrov’s unshakeable rule in Chechnya, given that it was the first time his stronghold in Tsentoroi had come under attack in the past six years. Since ...

Chechen Officials Press Moscow to Assist with Demining as Blasts Still Claim Lives

Publication: North Caucasus Analysis
September 7, 2010 12:42 PM

On May 6, the Kavkazsky Uzel (Caucasian Knot) website reported that the Chechen parliament resolved to address Moscow with a request to assist with clearing minefields in the republic. An estimated 24,000 hectares (59,000 acres) of land in Chechnya remain littered with landmines years after the war officially was declared over. According to pro-Moscow Chechen officials, no organization has been actively demining the republic since the start of the second Russian-Chechen war in 1999. A number of the explosive devices date back to the first Russian-Chechen war of 1994-1996. A representative of the Chechen branch of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry (MChS) said that during the past five years, 5,143 explosive devices and 21 airborne bombs were neutralized, 247 hectares of land were cleared, but that this is, in his ...

Chechenpress: World Chechen Congress

World Chechen Congress

September 2nd, 2010

International Forum "The Faith of the Chechen People: Current Realities and Perspectives”, to be held from 16-18 September 2010 in Warsaw (Poland). The Forum is organized by the World Chechen Congress in co-operation with members of the European Parliament and of parliaments of European states.
The escalation of armed opposition and violence against the civilian population in the Chechen Republic and other Caucasian republics gets larger in scale and becomes more radicalized. The tendency towards an unwinding new Caucasian war is evident.
Therefore we believe it is necessary to organize a World Chechen Congress. The aim of the Forum is to develop a common concept in order to stop the Russian-Chechen conflict, to counter terrorism and violations of human rights in the Caucasian region.
In the framework of the Forum we plan to discuss the most up-to-date problems in the reciprocal relations between Russia and the Chechen Republic and ...
