Statement of the Foreign Ministry of Chechen Republic of Ichkeria
The Foreign Ministry of CHRI informs about the heroic death of Abdul-Halim Sadulaev, President of CHRI, in a battle against superior enemy forces.
Mr. Sadulaev has remained loyal to the cause of his predecessors Djokhar Dudayev, Zalimkhan Yandarbiyev and Aslan Maskhadov, who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the Chechen nation and for triumph of justice.
The government of the CRI expresses deep condolences to the President’s family, and to the whole Chechen nation. We have lost a dignified leader and one of the selfless champions of our right cause.
For the next three days, from June 18 to June 20, kyoman tezet mourning is declared among the Chechens, both inside and outside the CRI.
