Six times a week, for 20 minutes, RFE/RL broadcasts in the Chechen language for the Chechen audience. We select the parts most related to the conflict in Chechnya and publish their Russian translations on our website (www.watchdog.cz/rferl). The transcripts are usually posted the following day. We believe this new on-line service will be useful for both Chechen and Russian readers as well as others interested in Chechnya and the Northern Caucasus who don't understand Chechen well or not at all. On May 19th, in Hamburg’s Town Hall, the Russian-Chechen Information Agency (RCHIA) received the "Free Press of Eastern Europe Award - 2006", named after Gerd Butserius. RCHIA Editor-in-Chief and Executive Director of the Society of Russian- Chechen Friendship Society, Stanislav Dmitriyevsky, participated in the presentation ceremony. The RCHIA reported that the presentation was attended by a large number of politicians, public servants, businessmen and representatives of the media, who filled the entire town hall. Editor of the English-language version of RCHIA Oxana Chelysheva also participated. Speeches to the gathering were delivered by ex-Chancellor of Germany Helmut Schmidt and editor of the weekly "Die Zite", Teo Zommer.
