(Coharkale/Ajans Kafkas) - The president of the pro-Russian Chechen Governement Alu Alkhanov said that he had accepted Prime Minister Sergey Abramov's resignation and would name his successor later this week.
Althoug Alkhanov said he had not decided on a successor yet, chairman of the Chechen parlaiment Dukuvakha Abdurakhmanov said parlamentarians saw acting Prime Minister Ramzan Kadirov as the only possible candidate.
On Tuesday Alkhanov said that Abramov's state of health will not let him return his post but Abramov denied that and said he resigned to give way to Kadirov.

Chechen President Alu Alkhanov signed an official document requesting Chechen People’s Assembly to approve Ramzan Kadyrov’s candidature for the post of Chechen Prime Minister. This document addressed to People’s Assembly of Chechnya was written at 16:00 Moscow time right after presidential decree accepting Sergei Abramov’s resignation had been issued.
According to Chairman of Chechen People’s Assembly Dukvakh Abdurakhmanov, Ramzan Kadyrov’s candidature for the position of the Prime Minister of Chechnya will be discussed by the deputies of People’s Assembly on Saturday morning.
In the meantime, parliamentary faction of “Edinaya Rossiya” in Chechen People’s Assembly made a unanimous decision to vote for the candidature of Ramzan Kadyrov.
