The press release of the Parliament of CHRI

The delegation of the Parliament of CHRI, led by Beshaev S., the first vice-president of Parliament, has finished the work at a session of PASE which passed from October, 3 till October, 7 in Strasbourg, France.

During session the delegation has carried out meetings with representatives of various political parties, the commissions and deputy groups of PASE during which the real situation in the Chechen Republic Ichkerija was covered, was given the brief information on fighting collisions between the Russian occupational armies and armed forces of CHRI for September, 2005, about proceeding plunders of peaceful people, in particular women and young girls, about "cleanings" during which they kill, plunder, take away the men, and then they vanish without a message.

Also the delegation has informed deputies of PASE, that in these conditions the management of Russia tries on November, 27 in the Chechen ...

The appeal of President of CHRI to the people and government of Pakistan

In the name of Allah, Gracious, Merciful!

The terrible natural disaster befell upon friendly Muslim people of Pakistan, grief and sufferings came in tens thousand families which have lost their relatives and friends, the country got the huge material loss. On behalf of Chechen people I would like to express the sincere condolence to all Pakistan people and its Government and to assure, that we share your sorrow, we feel with the sufferings of people who received wounds and mutilation, deprived of blood.

We, Chechens, terrifically understand the condition of our Pakistan brothers because we ourelves for many years in succession have experienced the same sufferings and destructions which were brought on the ground of Pakistan by the blind natural disaster. We continue the publication "Chechen diary" of Andrey Novikov. The author - active participant of democratic movement in 80th, a member of group "Doverie" (trust). In 90th of the last century worked as the political analyst in "Literatunaja Gazeta" and a weekly journal "Vek". The unpublished notes turned into a book - a political diary of epoch of the first years of the Second Chechen war. The special attention is deserved by political forecasts of the author, the majority from which have eventually proved to be true.

Passport inspection begins at Chechen TACs

CHECHNYA - A large-scale passport regime inspection operation recently began at all temporary accommodation centres (TACs) for refugees in Chechnya. It is being conducted by officials of the Interior Ministry of the Chechen Republic as well as by servicemen of the temporary Russian Interior Ministry grouping in Chechnya.

According to the Moscow-backed Chechen Interior Minister Ruslan Alkhanov, the basic purpose of this measure is to uncover persons participating in "illegal armed units," and also to check the status of temporarily displaced persons who are accommodated in TACs, in connection with the beginning of the election campaign.

Police officials are also checking the legality of the Russian passports issued to refugees and the granting of citizenship of the Russian Federation to immigrants from Central Asian republics, whose number in Chechnya has risen sharply recently.
