Chechnya's Government opens a campaign of population's moral upbringing

The Government of Chechnya has developed a project of spiritual and moral education of the Republic's population.

The RIA "Novosti" reports that at one of the meetings with participation of the heads of administrations, ministries, agencies and power structures Ramzan Kadyrov proclaimed: "I demand that the heads of districts, ministries and agencies of Chechnya inform their subordinates about the necessity to strictly follow the appearance and observe the requirements moved to employees' clothes that they wear at workplaces; it especially refers to women. Their clothes shall meet Chechen traditions."

The "Caucasian Knot" informed earlier that a week ago President of Chechnya ordered to stop leasing and selling wedding dresses from Europe in Chechnya, finding them excessively low (open) for the brides.

From this month on, students of higher schools of the Chechen Republic will wear special uniform, and girls will wear headscarves. The higher school managers say that the non-observance of these instructions shall entail exclusion from a higher school.

The campaign of moral upbringing education has even touched on Chechnya's performers and actors. "For getting a performance permit, the actors shall submit their repertoire lists for approval by the Arts Council; and the songs therein shall comply with the spirit of our traditions," a spokesman of the Ministry of Culture of the Chechen Republic told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

See earlier reports: "Teachers and girl-students without headscarves are expelled from Chechen higher schools."
