From: MSN Nicknamelove_caucasus (Original Message) Sent: 9/24/2006 3:48 PM Reuters Keeps Spreading Russian Propaganda Lies Publication time: 21 September 2006, 17:51 In a report from Jokhar today; Reuters said "large-scale fighting has stopped in Chechnya and Moscow has managed to kill rebel President Aslan Maskhadov and rebel warlord, Shamil Basayev, Russia's most wanted man. Russian forces and local allies control most of Chechnya, and dozens of rebels have turned in weapons under an amnesty".
This information is far from being true.
First, Aslan Maskhadov was not a "rebel President". He was a legally elected State President of an independent state, the Chechen Republic of Ichheria. The free democratic elections took place under the auspices of international community and were recognized by every country in the world, including the UK and Russia.
Second, Shamil Basayev was not a "rebel warlord" but a Vice President and Defense Minister of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.
Third, the Russians never "managed to kill" Shamil Basayev simply because he died in an accident blast due to detonation on a bad Russian-built road while transporting explosives in a truck with a group of other Mujahideen.
Fourth, the Russian invaders and their puppets do not "control most of Chechnya". If Reuters provided its readers with reliable and trustworthy information from Chechen sources, at least within the framework of balanced approach, they would know that Russians and puppets control nothing in Chechnya, even at nighttime in the Chechen capital of Jokhar.
Fifth, large-scale fighting never stopped in Chechnya. If Reuters reported complete and unbiased information, just as some Arab news agencies do, its readers would know about a large-scale military operation in Avtury in July, with participation of the Arab Muslim Mujahideen brothers, volunteers under the command of Amir Abu Hafs.
Sixth, there are no "rebels" in Chechnya. The puppets are not rebels but apostates and traitors for the legal Government of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria. Te Mujahideens are not rebels because they are soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Chechen republic of Ichkeria. They never rebelled against their own government.
Seventh, not a single Mujahid "turned in weapons under an amnesty". A month ago, we have already drawn the attention of Western correspondents in Russian, and specifically the Reuters Moscow bureau, to that fact in our Special Report titled "Are Western Correspondents in Moscow Afraid of the FSB?". We repeat. Russians and puppets demonstrated in their show "Turning in Weapons" only captured civilians and relatives of Mujahideen who never had any arms in their possession to turn them in.
7 lies in 3 lines of a Reuters dispatch. Is not too much even for Reuters?
It is really a pity that Western correspondents in Russia took a biased pro-Russian stance and keep going spreading Russian propaganda lies and deceiving their and subscribers and readers.
