From: MSN NicknameEagle_wng (Original Message) Sent: 11/27/2005 11:42 AM Protest meeting took place in Grozny CHECHNYA, 25 November, Caucasus Times. Last Thursday a number of students of Oil Institute in Grozny staged a meeting of protest in front of the government building of Chechnya. Participants of the protest action demanded to release their fellow student of Oil Institute who had been detained earlier.
Caucasus Times correspondent learned from the participants of the protest meeting that on 22 November a group of unknown persons in kamouflage kidnapped a five-year student Ramzan Adashev, who was taken away. As it became clear later, Adashev was arrested by the members of the Office of the Fight Against Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a suspect involved in a kidnapping one person.
Adashev’s relatives have been informed by the Office of the Fight Against Organized Crime that he is currently giving evidences.
At the same time, relatives and Adashev’s fellow students are certain about the fact that Adashev is innocent and that his evidences were given by him under pressure.
Criminal case related to this incident has been initiated. Bulat Tamaev, Grozny, Caucasus Times http://www.caucasustimes.com/article.asp?id=6761
