Just before we start on interpretation of the belief about “Mujahideen” and “Martyrs”, it is prerequisite to quote a couple of verses from the Holy Quran which speak highly about the martyrs’ position in Islam, awarding them a very revered status.
According to the Revered Quran, Chapter number III, verse 169 states:
“Think not of those who are slain in Allah’s way as dead. Nay, they live,
Finding their sustenance
In the Presence of their Lord;
Chapter number III, verse 170 states:
They rejoice in the Bounty
Provided by Allah:
And with regard to those
Left behind, who have not
Yet joined them (in their bliss),
The (Martyrs) glory in the fact
That on them is no fear,
Nor have they (cause to) grieve.
A martyr is a person, who suffers for a cause that is by all virtues a righteous one, distinctly in the way of the Almighty.
All mujahideen at heart wish to achieve martyrdom in their noble mission of defending lives and honor of their people and motherland from despotism of the Evil. A Muslim who is well aware of the values and moral code of his Faith will in no way mistreat any living thing.
The world has to be aware of the reality of the problems faced by Muslims all over.
It is Muslims who are facing brutal aggression at the hands of their tormenters be it in Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, and Bosnia or in Chechnya, it is Muslims who are the real victims of terror, and pathetically, it is these guiltless muslims who are facing the brunt of the superficial and self-styled “Developed Nations” merely for defying the criminal actions of their oppressors in their own homelands!
Is defending ones homeland or people from aggressors against the law?
If so, then in view of the present situation all freedom fighters who fought valiantly to liberate their motherlands from brutal regimes are manifestly the same as present-day “terrorists” or “militants despite the fact that liberty simply doesn’t arrive at our doorstep, except it is a prize won by heroic people in their battle against tyranny.
The Chechen people have been embroiled into the turmoil for too long a period.
All civilized Nations must stress upon a quick and unfailing approach to end the Russian-Chechen conflict, and subsequently the European Union must convene and strive for a magnanimous resolution to boost up the economy of the war torn region.
The world must recognize Chechnya as a sovereign and the enduring struggle of the mujahideen for peace in their home land must be acknowledged by all sane people.
It is perceptible that the Mujahideen will stop only when they have met their end or attained Freedom.
Russia must apologize for the unspeakable crimes it committed in the Caucasus region and should abstain from its officious interference in the affairs of the Chechen people.
But of course evil never gives up easily, does it? And so Mr. Putin seems determined to pursue his vicious goals by waging the unfair “war against the Chechen mujahideen” solely to subjugate the region owing to his iniquitous desire for more “POWER” in order to compete with the offensiveness of USA.
With firm faith in their Almighty Lord, the mujahideen are unflinchingly defying all Russian attacks on their homes and on their people. The Russians can surely tear down their homes, but never will they be able to cut a swathe through their morale; such is the fortitude of the “Mujahideen”.
