From: MSN NicknameEagle_wng (Original Message) Sent: 9/9/2005 2:08 AM Islam is a tolerant faith that respects other beliefs 08/09/05 SEÁN MONCRIEFF’S Last Word column (Irish Examiner, August 24) distorted the true teachings of Islam. I’m an Irish Muslim and I know that Islam is a tolerant yet principled faith. "To you your religion and to me mine" (Quran 109:6) is the Muslim attitude to different faiths. Tolerance isn't believing the same as others, but acting in a kind and just manner, despite religious disagreement. 'Kuffar' is not a "term of abuse for non-Muslims," as Moncrieff writes. One who declines the invitation of Islam is a kuffar. Quran 60:8 says: "God forbids you not from dealing kindly and justly with them (ie, non-Muslims). For God loves the just." A devout Muslim must be pleasant with people, regardless of religion. As for the Muslim belief in heaven and hell, Christians share the same belief. In Matthew 5:22, Luke 3:29 and Mark 3:29 (among numerous other verses in the Bible), hell is either mentioned or strongly ... >> full

From: MSN NicknameEagle_wng (Original Message) Sent: 9/9/2005 2:59 AM September, 9, 2005 Hostages of the Kremlin Ilya Milshtein, Grani.Ru The picture was black, as it was expected: Beslan mothers in mourning clothes, gloomy Putin in a dark costume with a dark tie. Kremlin special shooting has embodied brief introductory speech of the president. The speech was remarkable for a predictable lucidity. "Mothers of Beslan" still have agreed to go to a meeting with Putin. The president will have to strain his professional charm, and maybe, even sacrifice to someone from the dishonoured officials. However hardly it will bring success to him. The meeting lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes. It was very hard for us, it was hard also for the president. Rigid questions were asked. We spoke about the one who bears the responsibility that had happened in Beslan. The president has told - yes, he does not remove from himself the responsibility of what happened in Beslan, he feels his fault in what had happened in Beslan. He answered all ... >> full

Certainly, the Law of nobody obliges to make so, but, in our opinion, in it the civic duty of the fair citizen of Russia consists. Having let out it proclamation, FSB on behalf of the agitative website has completely recognized the defeat in information war from MASS-MEDIA free and independent ... >> full

From: MSN NicknameEagle_wng (Original Message) Sent: 9/9/2005 4:52 AM Experts: Russia Faces Demographic Disaster By Otto Latsis The Moscow News Low standards of living are the main cause of the acute demographic crisis that is threatening Russia The Levada Analytical Center asked Russians four questions: How many children should there be in an "ideal family"? How many children do you have now? How many children do you expect to have within your lifetime? How many children would you like to have if the conditions were ideal? It turned out that the share of respondents who had a definite opinion on the subject was extremely high: Only 4 percent were not sure about an ideal number of children; 7 percent about the number of children they would like to have; and 9 percent about the number of children they expected to have. This is where the positive part of the story ends and problems begin. Child Shortage For example, only 6 percent of respondents said an ideal family is a family with just one ... >> full

From: MSN NicknameEagle_wng (Original Message) Sent: 9/10/2005 4:29 AM Monday, 22 August 2005 Russia: A Three-Way Struggle For Chechen Islam Monday, 22 August 2005 By Paul Goble Three Islamic groups in Chechnya are competing for influence over the Muslims of that republic -- the state-controlled and pro-Moscow muftiate, the traditional Sufi tariqats and the radical Islamist djamaats, according to Shamil Beno, a former Chechen foreign minister who now works as an political analyst and activist in Moscow. And because mosques are "the only social institution that is functioning more or less normally in that republic," Beno argues in an interview in the 10 August issue of "Nezavisimaya gazeta -- Religii," the outcome of their competition will play a major role in defining Chechnya's future. Moreover, he emphasizes, as have many others, in any political conflict, people in Chechnya and its adjoining regions inevitably use Islamic slogans to advance their cause, something that makes it critically important to know where they derive these slogans from and what the precise connotations of each ... >> full
