MOSCOW, June 7 (Itar-Tass) - Cases of hepatitis A among the people, who drank beer produced by OAO Rzhevpivo distilleries have been registered in Moscow.

“A total of six cases of viral hepatitis A were registered in Moscow between May 2 and May 8,” the Russian Federal Service for Consumer Right Protection (Rospotrebnadzor) said in an official report Thursday.

All the six people were hospitalised, and two of them, a father and son, said they had made a trip to a place in the Tver region southwest off Moscow where they drank beer produced by Rzhezpivo, located in the same region.

Apart from beer, Rzhevpivo sells in Moscow the mineral water Rhzevskaya.

“We identified three shops selling the company’s produce, and Moscow City’s chief sanitary doctor issued an instruction to stop its sales here,”

Lately, an interesting discussion has appeared in Russian public discourse. More and more often, the topic of maintaining the nation’s integrity is being discussed. This happens in such a tone that one gets the impression the country is on the verge of collapse. In the conditions of a vertical system of power, the return to a problem more typical of the early Yeltsin era seems rather strange... But the fact that the issue is brought up in the first place forces us to look once again not only at the political, but the financial relations between the center and the regions, as the main mechanism holding the country together.

The history of fiscal federalism in Russia has gone through several periods. Yeltsin’s call to “take as much sovereignty as you can ...

Economy of fear - the new invention of president Putin

The Author is the head of the third program of the Polish radio, the former correspondent of the Polish TV and magazine “Wprost” in Moscow

In fourteen years after the disintegration of the USSR the end to the more or less liberal transformations has come. Russian Quasi-liberalism is replaces with economy of fear. New Russia has received the first large political prisoner. The Federation becomes an evidently authoritative state. Symbols make the best influence on imagination of the society.

Condemned for nine years of camps Michael Hodorkovsky has become such a symbol. The symbol of lawlessness and oppression. President Putin autocratically makes decision on destinies and property of citizens. He divides and dominates with an iron hand. He gives to one people, and takes from others. Two chiefs of the oil concern YUKOS crushed by authorities, have already become history. Not as great managers, but as victims ...
