Must the world accept the rape of girls kidnapped by the occupying forces or their militias? Should we tolerate the murder of children and the abduction of boys to be tortured, broken, and sold back to their families, alive or dead? What about “filtration” camps and “human firewood”? We cannot say “we did not know” It is extremely difficult for an honest observer to break through the closed doors that separate Chechnya from the rest of the world. Indeed, no one even knows how many civilian casualties there have been in 10 years of war. According to estimates by non-governmental organisations, the figure is between 100,000 (that is, one civilian out of ten) and 300,000 (one out of four). How many voters participated in the November 2005 elections? Between 60 and 80 percent, according to Russian authorities; around 20 percent, reckon ... >> full

Exactly, this lot gives some light henceforth at Nurdi Nukhajiev, who was unanimously ratified as Chechen “plenipotentiary” of human rights by the "nation assembly" in Chechnya on last Monday. It was indicated as the merits of official for the election to this post, that he is a Doctor of Economics, who worked earlier in the organs of “plenipotentiaries" of the Russian President with respect to the guarantee of rights of citizens, Kalamanov and Sultygov, in the Chechen republic. From: MSN NicknameEagle_wng (Original Message) Sent: 3/3/2006 2:16 AM March, 3, 2006 Behind the scandal with caricatures got out the ears of FSB Mairbek Taramov, for CHECHENPRESS, 09.02.06. It seems that, the convinced supporter of the Chechen independence Alexander Litvinenko has found out the real reason of the tragical conflict, which has been flared up because of caricatures of Prophet Muhammad (a.s.s) in the Danish newspaper. It was found out, that a chief - editor of a cultural department of «Jyllands-Posten», certain Fleming Roze is connected with Liubiank (he is married to the daughter of the FSB general, and it means, that our conclusion is not at all the fiction if to take into account the present specificity of KGB authority in Russia). If it were not these circumstances, it would be possible to complain on "spontaneity" of an event. In the course of time, the caricature scandal began to acquire all new details, which only strengthen suspicions about participation of the Russian special services in them. Something similar occurred ... >> full

The Arab connection to Chechen conflict

From: MSN NicknameEagle_wng (Original Message) Sent: 3/3/2006 4:10 AM The Arab connection to Chechen conflict BY FARYAL LEGHARI 3 March 2006 CERTAIN dramatic developments in Chechnya have given rise to a perception that radical Islamist organisations have steered the secessionist movement toward creating an Islamic imamat in North Eastern Caucasus, similar to the Taleban regime in Afghanistan. Chechnya today stands at the intersection of radicalism and nationalism. Islam has always been an integral part of its national identity but was not the impetus behind the nationalist movement that started after the break-up of the Soviet Union in 1991. The politicisation and radicalisation of Islam was a complex process that opened a Pandora's box with serious threats of the conflict morphing into an ethno religious war conflagrating the entire region. An obdurate refusal to change the policies by the Russian leadership has led to the current quagmire. The political stalemate remains with militant Islam threatening any chance of autonomy that the movement may try to achieve. In this backdrop, it is crucial ... >> full
