From: MSN NicknameEagle_wng (Original Message) Sent: 1/20/2006 3:13 AM Friday, January 20, 2006 Rice Says Russia Fails G8 Democracy Test By George Gedda Associated Press WASHINGTON — U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Wednesday that Russia’s drift away from democracy is inconsistent with its duties as president of the Group of Eight industrialized nations. Rice offered the criticism during an appearance at Georgetown University even as she is attempting to enlist Russian support for strong action against Iran in the International Atomic Energy Agency. “I think it’s very important that Russia understand that certain responsibilities and certain expectations and certain obligations come with being the chair of an organization that is avowedly of industrialized democracies,” she said in response to a question. The speculation came after the Russian giant's deputy chairman said the company would consider acquisitions to take it into the business of supplying homes with gas and electricity. At the moment, Gazprom is a gas wholesaler only in the UK, with a few major industrial and power station companies. Centrica's British Gas is the nation's biggest supplier to individual homes. Gazprom is believed to have looked at Centrica in the past and more recently considered gatecrashing the abortive acquisition of ScottishPower by E.ON of Germany. ScottishPower shares were also strong yesterday on hopes that Gazprom will alight on it as a suitable entry into the retail market, ending up 4.5p at 570.5p. But it was ... >> full

As the saying goes, not to wash dirty linen in public, but we have already done during the polemic of last two weeks around of the article "Reflections of mojahed". Authors of "reflection", as it became nominal recently this expression, slowly, for themselves reflected. So it would remain in full loneliness unless official representative of Ichkerija government reacted to it. And now "authors", it is possible to say, have gained a tactical victory. Their main mission, - to cause a public resonance and to probe "pulse" of social system, - is achieved. Akhmed Zakaev as respectable Chechen, probably, pretty good moslem, but i would like to admit, he is not enough versed in the islam. With it the "reflecting outhors" decided to take an advantage, having provoked ... >> full
