Statements of former Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili, in connection with the resignation, testify that attempts of Russia to influence processes in this country are not weakened even after revolution. Her) resignation is a victim brought to Moscow, and now it is necessary to expect reorientation of course of Georgia in the external policy, many observers speak. Settlement of a question of withdrawal of the Russian military bases from territory of Georgia is considered to be the basic merit of Zurabishvili on a post of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs . Naturally, knowing the habits of the Russian side, it was possible to guess, that Moscow had a grudge on her. It is enough to recollect demonstrative refusal of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Lavrov from a meeting offered by the Georgian side before summit in Warsaw, with public, full "majestic greatness", Lavrov-style comments.
In opinion of some Georgian politicians, Zurabishvili might become a victim of a fact that she did not enter into any of existing Georgian clans and could not resist to them alone. For Georgia this version is quite real, however, as always in such cases, we see the interests of temperamental northern neighbours and their puppets actively working in Georgia, including in power structures.
Very interesting is the set of claims on address of Zurabishvili from the part of her Georgian opponents, more truly, absence of any proved claims. The only accusation which though somehow is possible to grasp, has sounded from the head of parliament - Burjanadze, it says, that Zurabashvili almost treached interests of Georgia to please Russia. Burjanadze has told how the Supreme commissioner of EU on questions of foreign policy and safety Havier Solana has shown her the letter from Zurabishvili where it was spoken that "monitoring of borders with Russia is not a priority for Georgia". Rather "strong" accusation to address of the minister who has solved a question of withdrawal of the Russian bases, the question that up to her the Georgian politics could not solve within 15 years. It somhow reminds the attacks of sent from Moscow "anti-Dudaev oposition", accusing Dudaev. . . in pro-Russian orientations.
However, seems that Burjanadze has a little hurried. The matter is that after resignation of Zurabishvili, on a post of Minister for Foreign Affairs have appointed Gela Bejuashvili, and accusations about his "northern" orientations have sounded at once. And the formulation - as if a mirror reflection of recent accusations to address of Zurabishvili. The deputy of parliament David Gamkrelidze has reminded the words of newly apointed head of Ministry of Foreign Affairs told by him in stay of Minister of Defence of Georgia: "Withdrawal of the Russian military bases is not a priority of Georgian state". It would be interesting to listen to opinion of Burjanadze, concerning accusations of already new minister on offence more significant, than the letter which Solana showed her.
Later, having felt something wrong and having moderated delights, have begun to creak feathers the Russian "contra-propagandists", who informed opposite: as if new minister Gela Bejuashvili, actually is known for the antiRussian moods, including on the Russian military bases. However, after the not disguised triumph of the Russian side in connection with the resignation of Salome Zurabishvili, these attempts might impress only politically advanced habitue of the dukhan who has got confused in artful designs and on everything, with a thumb up, gives out only one conclusion: Ih! It is a big policy!
President of Georgia Saakashvili might uncover the secret of all this "policy", but he has disappeared from the field of vision in the very heat of campaign and does not show any signs of existance. Looks like that now such actions are most reasonable. He can't come out before people and prove the decision on dismissal of minister by those accusations that sounded in these days.Somehow it is difficult to formulate and repeat not losing respect of decent people what the crowd on a market shouts. On the other hand, there is a question of independence of the Georgian leader, you see at absence of distinct claims to Zurabishvili, it appears, that the decision of resignation of minister was accepted by him under someone's pressure. And, taking into account, in whose advantage the given decision is accepted, speech may go about suspicions, that Saakashvili from a young, but still a partner of the West, has turned to a banal Moscow puppet.
