Dear Friends!

Taking an opportunity, we condole to Aslan Mashadov's family and all Chechen people. We are those citizens of Russia , who understand, what the Russian army does in the Chechen Republic : terror and genocide against your distressful people. In Russia there are not enough people, who feel sympathy to the Chechen resistance. As you know, we receive scanty information about the events in the Chechen Republic . We are also sure, that the 8 th of March, 2005 was not a holiday in the families of simple citizens, as our authorities once again made a mean and silly act, having killed the person, who had sincerely offered peace to us. We have got a small request to you. If it is possible, we would like you to answer the following questions. We want to know the truth!

Dear friends, we answer your questions with pleasure:

1. Why it is not informed on Aslan Mashadov's case in the Chechen mass-media?

It is not absolutely so. At once after the death of the President of the ChRI Aslan Mashadov ( Insha Allah Shahid) literally all Chechen agencies reacted to it. The problem is that the information has decreased, and it is defective for our work. Powerful information pressure could force the State Duma and the State Office of the Public Prosecutor of the Russian Federation to give out the body of President Mashadov.

2. Who assists your Special Working Group?

The special Working Group is assisted with the international organizations, and also by physical persons. Especially we are grateful to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the ChRI Ilyas Akhmadov and the general representative of the President of the ChRI Umar Hanbiev who rendered and continue to assist the SWG . The people, rendering help to the SWG in this case, thus show their respect to the memory of the legendary person, who sacrificed himself for the sake of honor and freedom of the Chechen people. 3. When will the proceedings on Aslan Mashadov begin in the Strasbourg court?

As you know, the family appealed to the Strasbourg court and the case passes under the name “The Mashadovs against Russia ”. The beginning of process is appointed by the court.

4. Do you know, how Aslan Mashadov was really lost?

So far we do not have all details of the events, taken place on the 8 th of March, 2005 in the village Tolstoy Yurt ( Doikur-Evl) . In the nearest future the true version of the death of the President of the ChRI Aslan Mashadov will be promulgated.

5. Whether there was a treachery of Aslan Mashadov?

It is excluded. The Russian mass-media have repeatedly declared that ostensibly Chechens betrayed Aslan Mashadov. Then there was another version contradicting the first one, that security guards were guilty of everything. We can confidently declare, that all versions pronounced by the Kremlin, do not correspond to the validity.

6. Why do not Ichkerian representatives abroad (namely the Minister and the Representative of the President of the ChRI in the Great Britain Ahmed Zakaev, the Minister and the General Representative of the President of the ChRI Umar Hanbiev , the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the ChRI Ilyas Ahmadov, and others) do not come out with statements about Mashadov's case? And do they generally help?

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the ChRI Ilyas Ahmadov, the General Representative of the President of the ChRI Umar Hanbiev and others, inform us on the course of the meetings carried out by them in Europe and the USA , where the theme of death of Aslan Mashadov is mentioned.

7. Whether a payoff of the family of Mashadov as it was with Yandarbiev's family is possible?

We can not assert that there was a payoff of the family of Zelimhan Yandarbiev. But we declare that a payoff of the family of Aslan Mashadov is excluded.

8. Whether the Russian authorities render pressure on Aslan Mashadov's family?

It is possible to expect anything from the Russian authorities.

9. We have repeatedly read at the Chechen forums, how some Chechens condemn requirements of the family of Aslan Mashadov about delivery of his body, basing on the laws of the Islam. What would you tell in this occasion?

The family of the President of the ChRI Aslan Mashadov appealed to the Russian authorities not with an entreaty, but with a demand to give out the body of the head of the family. They have all rights for it, and it does not miss the canons of the Islam, and according to all world religions the flesh of any person is inviolable. Nobody has rights to condemn Aslan Mashadov's family and also those people, who became victims of barbarity on the part of Russia . If defilement of cemeteries is considered blasphemy and a crime all over the world, refusal in delivery of the body of a person to bury it is the worst crime bordering on wildness. It is necessary to condemn and judge those, who under any pretexts hang up labels on Chechens, kill them, and then mock at their bodies.
