Unknown persons abducted the father and son Khurtsia in Gagida, Gal district, at 6.30 this morning, Abkhazia's Internal Affairs Minister Otar Khetsia told Caucasian Knot's correspondent.
Eyewitnesses say that eight people in masks armed with automatic weapons came to the house of Guliko Khurtsia and brought him away together with his son Ruben.
Abkhazia's Foreign Minister Sergei Shamba says that he is seriously concerned over increasingly frequent provocations in the borderline Gal district. Mr Shamba believes that the Georgian party is deliberately trying to exacerbate the situation in the district to prove the need of introduction of UN forces to it.
12/12/2005 Family attacked in Abkhazia's Gal district
An attack on Abkhaz family, Morgoshia, was carried out in Abkhazia's Gal district.
Officers of the District Division of Internal Affairs temporarily resided in the house of Vazha Morgoshia, b. 1934, the Abkhaz Internal Affairs Ministry told Caucasian Knot's correspondent. The incident occurred at 2:15 a.m. on the night of 11 December, according to minister Otar Khetsia. When unknown attackers fired automatic weapons at Mr Morgoshia's house, the police officers opened response fire. The gunmen ran away towards Georgia's Zugdidi district after that, said the minister. The master of the house and the police officers did not suffer.

President Bagapsh intends to support command "Narts from Abkhazia"

president of Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh will meet in Moscow with heads of some Russian companies. With that purpose Sergey Bagapsh today has left to Moscow and now already is in the Russian capital. "Meetings of the president with heads of some Russian companies are already appointed", - the head of the department of governmental information Christian Bzhanija informed the correspondent of "Caucasian unit" by the phone from Moscow.
Besides Sergey Bagapsh intends to support the command "Narts from Abkhazia" in the final game of the Club of merry and resourceful which takes place on December, 15th in Moscow.

Law enforcement bodies of Abkhazia were put to the strengthened mode of carrying out operatively-preventive actions. The deputy minister of internal affairs of republic Vladimir Gajdukov informed about it "Apsnypress". As he said, the special attention would be paid to the Black Sea highway from Inguri up to Psou.
"Now it is the season when population can earn some money selling citruses. Transition to the strengthened mode is connected with the purpose prevention of any armed assaults on the road", - told Gajdukov. At the same time the deputy minister noted that during this season they did not registered any case of armed assault on roads. "We shall support this tendency", - said Vladimir Gajdukov.
