Leader of the People's Party of Abkhazia released from custody

People's Party leader of Abkhazia Yakub Lakoba, who was arrested Jan. 21 and placed in the jail of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Abkhazia, was released from custody.
"Detention for 48 hours was groundless, to which the Attorney General responded correctly," - told the lawyer Omar Berulava to Interfax.
As previously reported, in respect of H. Lakoba who was prosecuted under Article 124 part 3 of the Criminal Code ("Libel, coupled with the accusation of committing a serious crime").
The reason for the initiation of the case was an article of Lakoba Yakub "phenomenon and the syndrome of Stepashin: a political schemer and a blackmailer," posted on the website of the Party of Economic Development of Abkhazia. (Http://era-abkhazia.org/news/index.php?ELEMENT_ID=3101) .
