At night of July, 17th the head of Gagri branch of the Spiritual management of Muslims of Abkhazia and the member of the Public chamber of the republic Emik Chakmach-ogly was killed.

As they informed "Caucasian uzel" correspondent in the State Office of Public Prosecutor of Abkhazia, Emik Chakmach-ogly, 1961 of birth, was killed approximately at 2.00 am by Moscow time in the court yard of his own house in the centre of Gagri town, on Nartaa prospectus, being shot from fire-arms - a pistol of unstated sample.

Chakmach-ogly was shot when he was coming back from his own shop located near his house. Shots sounded during the moment when he, having parked his car in the court yard of the house, left the car.

The Office of Public Prosecutor of Gagrsky area instituted a criminal proceeding on the fact of the murder; they examined the place of the incident; shot sleeves were withdrawn, ballistic examination is prepared.

To the place of the incident constantly operating joint operatively-investigatory group under direction of the first assistant to the General public prosecutor of the republic Beslan Kvitsinia arrived. The group also includes the first deputy minister of internal affairs Ramin Gablaya, representatives of the State security service, the State customs committee and experts-criminalists.

At 08.00 pm by Moscow time the expanded meeting takes place in the Office of Public Prosecutor of the town of Gagri at which they will discuss the found out on the initial stage of the preliminary investigation of circumstances of Chakmach-ogly’s murder, and investigatory versions will be sounded.
