EU tries to help solve trouble between Abkhazia and Georgia
Sukhum/Agency Caucasus - The European Council came up with a decision as part of a European Union (EU) program in support of its neighbors to aid the residents of the conflict area between Georgia and Abkhazia.
The European Council as the legislative body of EU allocated €2mn in social aid to the local residents, reporters said. This funding will be available for re-construction work, for Georgian refugees who returned to Abkhazia and for the local people on low income.
A group of EU officials took a trip on December 8 to Abkhazia to discuss with Abkhazia's Foreign Minister Sergei Shamba aid projects, possible solutions to trouble between Georgia and Abkhazia, and EU's participation in all these. KU/RİA/ÖZ/FT
