From: MSN NicknameEagle_wng (Original Message) Sent: 8/24/2007 3:03 AM 18/08/2007 Abkhazians meet with officials in Volgograd Volgograd - The Sukhum administration signed a memorandum of understanding with a province of the Russian Federation, Volgograd, or formerly known as Stalingrad, in one of its steps forward in the direction of improving relations with the Russian Federation.
Deputy Abkhazian Prime Minister Alexandr Stranichkin signed in Volgograd the memorandum of understanding with Volgograd Governor Nikolai Maksuta in hopes of improving cooperation in several fields of economics, science, ecology and culture.
Also, the Abkhazian officials had talks with major businessmen and officials here about opportunities as well as advantages of investment in tourism, agriculture, housing and several other fields available in Abkhazia.
Among the Russian officials were Lev Alferov from the Volgograd Administration of Housing, Alexandr Belitski from the Volgograd Chamber of Commerce, and Vladimir Demidov from the Administration of Commercial Development. ABKHZG/ÖZ/FT
