The president of Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh declared that the negotiations with Georgia about settlement of the conflict could be renewed - both in the 4-literal format, and at the higher level - only after execution by Tbilisi of the resolution of the UN Security Council (providing demilitarization of the top part of Kodori gorge) in the full way.
At the meeting with the French ambassador in Georgia Philipp Leforteu the leader of the unrecognized republic named "the presence in the top part of Kodori gorge of so-called “government in exile” as one of the primary factors interfering renewal of the negotiation process", "Interfax" informed.
"Until moving out from the gorge of "puppet government "the negotiations will not be renewed", - Bagapsh emphasized.
The French diplomats estimated positively actions of the Abkhazian party which exempted on the eve three Georgian students. According to Leforteu, those actions "should play a positive role in improvement of the atmosphere in the negotiation process".
Bagapsh expressed his deep regret concerning transformation by the Georgian party "the humanitarian action on the students’ releasing into a political show with populist character". In his opinion, such "frivolous actions of Georgia put essential damage to the relations of the parties and putting the opponents off the dialogue".
At the meeting they also discussed the opportunities of implementation of some socio-economic projects in the zones suffered from the military conflict. Having expressed his gratitude to the French republic for realization of a number of the projects in Abkhazia, Bagapsh emphasized that "any humanitarian actions or economic projects joint with other countries should not be connected in any way with the Georgian-Abkhazian peace negotiation process”.
