23/3/2007 Joint monitoring group left for Kodor Gorge
According to the "Rustavi-2" TV Company, General Sergey Chaban, Commander of the of the CIS Collective Peacemaking Forces (CIS CPMFs) in the Georgian conflict zone, has confirmed the information about the visit today of the upper section of the Kodor Gorge of the Joint Group instructed to reveal the facts of violations of the Moscow Agreement on Ceasefire and Separation of Troops dated May 14, 1994.
The Joint Group includes three representatives from Georgian, Abkhazian and Russian parties each, and three UN observers.
From March 13 to March 16, the Group carried out in situ its own investigation into the shelling of the upper section of the Kodor Gorge, which, according to Georgian party, took place at night of March 12.
They promised to announce the final outcomes of the investigation on March 19. However, no results were made public.
