Abkhazia calls the world community to low aggravation in the conflict zone 30.12.2006
Abkhazia calls all the participants of the negotiating process to make the prompt consecutive steps for decrease of intensity and threat to peace in the region.
About that it was spoken in the statement of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia, widespread on December 29th in connection with the aggravation of the situation in the frontier area of Gali, Abkhazia. The Abkhazian party as it was written in the document, "assigns special hopes for representatives of the United Nations Organization, Russian Federation as the assisting parties and the countries of the Group of Friends of the UN Secretary General which will give the adequate estimation based on the international criteria to the actions and the statements of the Georgian party that can destabilize the situation in the conflict zone and cause an armed disagreement".
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia expressed its extreme concern "in connection with the reference of representatives of the political circles of Georgia and "the independent government in exile" in relation to the bringing of the Georgian police forces in the territory of Abkhazia with ostensible purpose of protection of the rights of the Georgian population".
"The aggravated situation became consequence of the well planned actions of the Georgian party therefore three employees of the Abkhazian militia were killed and another one was wounded. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Republic of Abkhazia had not once focused attention of all the participants of the negotiating process to communication of the Georgian management with the terrorist groups based in the territory of Zugdidi area", - it was fixed in the statement.
In December, 2006, it was marked in the document, "Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia has personally held preliminary consultations with the leaders of the terrorist organizations then a script of destabilization of the situation in Gali area, was developed on precisely designated line".
Such actions of Georgia, as well as the appeals of the Georgian politicians to bring the armies in the territory of Abkhazia, in the opinion the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the republic, "mean continuation of the practice of provocations, begun in the summer 2006 in the territory of the highest part of Kodori gorge of Abkhazia".
"After committed acts of terrorism in the territory of Abkhazia and the followed aggravation of the situation in Gali area, the appeal of the Georgia management to the international community to participate actively in normalization of the situation in Gali area and Abkhazia as a whole, is just a barefaced hypocrisy. The state using terrorism and provocations for achievement of some political goals, represents a real threat not only for Abkhazia, but for the whole international community", - the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia emphasized.
Let's note that in connection with the aggravation of the situation in frontier Gali area, all the law-enforcement and power structures of Abkhazia serve in the strengthened mode. The management of Abkhazia does not exclude provocations from Georgia during the New Year’s holidays.
Let's remind, on December 25th and 26th as a result of the acts of terrorism in Gali area three employees of the Abkhazian militia were shot dead, one was hardly wounded.
