Abkhazian deputies demand Haindrava discharged from negotiations
13.2.2006

Deputies of Abkhazian parliament demand discharge of Georgian state minister on conflicts’ settlement Giorghy Haindrava from the negotiating process on settlement of the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict. As IА REGNUM correspondent in Sukhumi informed, a group of the deputies of the National Assembly had expressed their indignation in occasion of statements of the Georgian minister sounded on the air of the broadcasting company "Rustavi - 2" where he "represented the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict in the wrong form and insulted the people, the state and the management of Abkhazia, the political structure of Russian Federation and its peace-making forces".

Deputies of the parliament addressed to the Georgian leadership with their requirement "to state the adequate political estimation to the statements and, as a whole, the position of the state minister of Georgia who had offended the honour and advantage of the people, of the president and of sovereign Abkhazia; to take necessary measures for discharging of the state minister of Georgia from the Georgian-Abkhazian negotiating process".

The deputies’ discontent was caused by the words of the state minister who’d named Russia "a fascist country". "Haindrava declared that the Georgian party has some active negotiations, including secret ones with all the public forces of Abkhazia in relation "to restoration of the territorial integrity of Georgia". "Moreover, Haindrava represented the leader of Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh, actually, a political figure with pro-Georgian orientation and secret arrangements to the Georgian party on realization of revanchist plans concerned Abkhazia", - it was written in the reference of the deputies.

The reference was signed by deputies Temur Achugba, Vladimir Ashkhatsava, Aslan Bartsits, Marina Bartsits, Vyacheslav Vardania, Emma Gamisonia, Batal Hagush.
