10.2.2006

The president of Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh and the vice-president of republic Raul Hadjimba had taken part in the expanded session of the board of State security service (SSS) of the country. The session was devoted to the work results of the central apparatus and regional divisions of the SSS. IА REGNUM correspondent in Sukhumi informed that referring to the Management of the governmental information.

In the past year the maximal efforts on strengthening of the SSS material base were undertaken, noted in his speech Raul Hadjimba. He focused attention of the board members on necessity of strengthening of the SSS activities for investigation of antisocial crimes. "First of all, - the vice-president said, - the staff of the SSS should concentrate their efforts to prevention of the crimes capable to have negative influence on security of our country". Raul Hadjimba demanded precise coordination of actions among the SSS and other power departments.

Summing up boards, Sergey Bagapsh defined the primary goals and directions where the bodies of the state security must make the maximal efforts. They are, first of all, protection of the state interests and the sovereignty of Abkhazia, economic and public safety (including suppression of the actions directed on aggravation of the intra-public conditions). The leader of Abkhazia informed members of the SSS board on the measures undertaken by the country leadership for strengthening of material and technical base of state security bodies, no less than the divisions providing protection of Abkhazian frontiers.
